That being said, you need a great rotation to add to your strategy. That being said, you need a proper rotation or your rotation is going to be bad. That being said, let’s look at the proper Shadow Priest Rotation for Arena today, so you’re not left in the dust. That being said. That being said. That being said. That being said……That being said.Without further delay ladies and gentlemen, I give to you the best Arena Shadow Priest Spell Rotation!

• Mind Blast – This starts the burst going. Hit them with this first so you can start the cooldown and have it up faster.
• Shadow Word: Pain – You’ve gotta get the DoT up as fast as possible, so it has the opportunity to do the most damage throughout the fight.
• Mind Flay - This is more of a filler than anything.
• Vampiric Touch – Now we’re getting to about 90-91% left on mana. Vampiric Touch will start the regen so that goes down slower.
• If Shadow Word: Pain is off, renew it. This is your most efficient damage spell. Gotta keep that up at all times.
• Mind Blast – Cooldown should be up. Nuke em with it.
• Shadow Word: Death – As a finisher. If they’re not going to die from it (or very close) maybe save this until you can get them down a bit.

First of all, we take Darkness for the extra 10% damage boost. Even though taking all of the increased damage spells we can is a good thing, we’re going to have to watch it as we get further down the tree. Shadow Priests cause a notorious amount of threat, so we’ll have to remedy that with Shadow Affinity. I mention this because the talent is extremely important. If you’re going to be raiding in World of Warcraft as a Shadow Priest, you’ve gotta get Shadow Affinity. improved Shadow Word Pain is a must because it adds even more efficiency to the already great mana conserving spell. Shadow Focus gives us our hit cap.

Mind Flay is a given, as this is the spam move in our rotation after we’ve set Shadow Word: Pain and Mind Blast. Improved Mind Blast is a great talent because of that drastic shortening of the cooldown. Note: You can get away with only 4 points in Mind Blast and still maintain it in rotation, but you’ve got to be on top of your game.

We’ve taken Shadow Weaving in the same spirit that mages take Improved Scorch. We like that debuff because it ultimately means more damage, more life resotration and mana regeneration for our party. Vampiric Embrace and Improved Vampiric Embrace are both necessary. Basically everything from there on down is pretty self-explanatory due to them being basically all damage improvement talents. Good thing we took Shadow Affinity, because we’re going to be pumping out some damage!

Note: It’s important to keep in mind that the more damage you do, the more mana and health regeneration your party gets.

After Shadow is done, we jump right into the Discipline Tree.

Twin Disciplines gives you that 5% bonus to your instant spell damage, and I would say healing as well, but we don’t heal as Raiding Shadow Priests. Still, it’s an extra bonus. Improved Power Word: Fortitude is going to help you and your party greatly. You can never have too much health. Inner Focus is there if you need it, but I’m guessing most of the time you won’. Priest Leveling Build

Now, granted, you can place your talents however you want to, but this is just what I did. I’ll run over the really important talents in the article, but keep in mind that no build is perfect. How well a build functions is also incredibly reliant on your current gear and spell rotation as well. However, for the most part, when you’re leveling up, you’ll want to stick as closely as possible to the build above.

This build focuses mainly on Shadow and then jumps over into Discipline. It’s highly recommended that you place your Shadow Points first while leveling your Priest in World of Warcraft.

First off, Spirit Tap is a must. This allows you to regenerate mana at a much greater speed than if you were to just fight untalented. This means two things. First of all, you regenerate mana while fighting, allowing you to kill one mob, gain the effect, and more efficiently take down the second mob due to your mana regen. Secondly, you won’t spend near as much time sitting and drinking after a fight. Spread out this 10 second savings over every single fight in the game from level 10 to level 80 and you’ve got yourself more than a few hours saved from this talent. Improved Spirit Tap just adds to this effect, get that bad boy too.

Shadow Word: Pain is your most efficient damage spell in your arsenal (it does more damage per point of mana). Taking Improved Shadow Word: Pain would be wise. Improved Psychic Scream is always nice because it’s really your only crowd control spell as a priest leveling up. Use it and love it. Vampiric Embrace and Improved Vampiric Embrace will allow you to siphon health from your opponent, making you less likely to need heals during or after a fight. Again, more efficiency.

Shadowform, Twisted Faith, Misery and Shadow Power are all essential here because they give you an incredible boost to your overall damage. Mind Melt is great for this too. Done with Shadow, and moving on into Discipline.

Ok, right off the bat, we’ve taken Twin Disciplines. This isn’t only important for your spell damage, but let’s face it – there’s going to be a time when you need to heal yourself to get out of a sticky situation. I don’t care what any Shadow Priest tells you, even they heal when needed while leveling up in World of Warcraft. Since you’re going to be soloing and taking damage, Improved Inner Fire is an essential boost to your armor class and make you less likely to be obligated to use your heals (we never want to use our heals if we don’t have to. They take mana, thus taking away from our speed and damage).

Improved Power Word: Fortitude gives us a little bit more Stamina. This talent really isn’t that essential, but it is nice to have. We just took it here because frankly, it’s the best talent in the tear for priest leveling in wow. Inner Focus comes in handy in two ways. Primarily, it can be used as an “Oh, Shit” button when you’re out of mana and you need a heal or just one last damage spell. Secondly, if you use it BEFORE you’re out of mana, it just saves on downtime.

The rest of the talents can be shifted around a bit, so tweak it and have fun with it. See you Priests in World of Warcraft! World of Warcraft PvP

WoW Discipline Priest Build

This is the build that Discipline Priests in World of Warcraft are using to Raid heal nowadays, and rightly so. We’ve got all of the talents that are going to improve the buffs you depend on to survive, as well as a very good healing and critical heal chance buff.

If the healing crits and improved buffs aren’t enough, we’ve also got the “druidy” like improved healing with Improved Renew. Inspiration also comes into play here to maximize extra damage mitigation when you crit on heals.

I know this is a pretty short World of Warcraft article on the Discipline Priest build, but honestly, most of the talents are self-explanatory and there isn’t too much combo-ing going on with the tree. We’ve just taken the best talents. Have fun in WoW!

Well, our time has now come. Shadow Priests, you’re still good, but we’re gonna need to to slow your roll. Here we are to PvP. We are Discipline Preists!Right off the bat, you’re probably wondering where you damage is going to come from. Here’s the attack order.

First cast: Holy Fire

Holy Fire might be too slow to be viable for spamming, but it can sure start off a battle. If you’re trying to decide which spell to start the battle off with, it’s gotta be Holy Fire. Why? Because Holy Fire has a damage over time aspect to it as well. In order to achieve the maximum amount of damage out of a spell, you’re going to want to let it run out. By casting Holy Fire first, you’re getting that DoT slapped up on them and out of the way, so you can now spam direct damage spells.

Second cast: Shadow Word Pain

Shadow Word Pain is going to be your second cast because, yet again, you’re going to want to get the most damage out of your DoT spells before they run out and need to be reset. They’re going to be taking damage from Holy Fire and Shadow Word Pain at this point while they’re running towards you. It might not matter THAT much what you cast first, but it matters ENOUGH.

Third Cast: Mind Blast

Now that we’ve got our DoT (Damage Over Time) Spells out of the way they’re ticking their target to his/her doom, we’re going to want to bust our cooldown on our damage spells. What do I mean by this? Well, you’re going to want to use Mind Blast first rather than Smite because it does a lot of damage and has a cooldown. The faster you use this spell, the more often you can use this spell. This might mean an extra 1 or 2 Mind Blasts as the fight goes on. In order to remain efficient with spells with cooldowns, you have to use them right when they pop up. This is actually a great thing, because spells with cooldowns are normally very powerful and you’ll want to use them over and over.

Fourth Cast: Smite

Smite is a really powerful spell. People don’t know it though. That’s what makes it great. With the right gear and setup, you can be smiting people for just as much as a Mage’s Frostbolt and people won’t expect it. Their ignorance works to your advantage. People think of Smite as a weak spell, so they’re not going to be fully conscious of how much damage it’s doing if they have another person they’re trying to finish off. It’s going to take them by surprise!Follow this tactic, boost up your spellpower gear and research your builds and there is absolutely no reason that you can’t outdamage or do the same amount of damage as a Shadow Priest. Remember, you’ve got the element of surprise as an ally!

Holy Priest Raiding:

When raiding as a Holy Priest, you heal. Keep the other guys alive and you’ll nearly always come out the victor and others will appreciate you for it. Here are some pointers on how to do just that when playing your Priest in World of Warcraft.

- Don’t always cast heals. If a player is so low on health that it’s possible the might die before you can heal them, use Power Word: Shield with your Holy Priest. This will buy you just enough time to heal them up and save their life since it’s an instant case spell that absorbs damage.

- Always, Always, Always take care of posions, diseases and debuffs on your raid members before trying to heal through it. Healing through it is not really treating the problem. It’s just delaying the effects. Take their ailment away THEN heal them. You’ll save mana and time this way.

- Manage your aggro. Do not waste mana on things that are not crucial to the fight just because you’re bored or whatever it may be. The more spells you cast, the more aggro you draw. Most of the time, if a raid boss even pulls to you for 2 or 3 seconds you’ll die because you wear cloth.

- Invest in mana regneration gear. This will often save you and help you win a fight when fights are longer than expected. If you run out of mana, it’s basically the same as a wipe. With no heals, your raid members WILL die. It’s your responsibility to make sure you have the mana to last, and endure past what is expected of you.

I know there are going to be a few of you reading this and asking yourselves why I’ve included these pointers when they seem to be common knowledge and common sense. Also though, ask yourself if you’re ever guilty of disobeying these. Odds are that you have and you just overlook it. Try to follow these guidelines and your raiding experience will be more successful and more fun than previous versions.
