Leave some work for Priests and Druids would you? I’m just playin. But seriously though, Paladin’s can heal just as well as any other pure “Healing” class. Today, I’m going to outline a build that’s going to make you pretty damn efficient when healing in groups or raids. You there! Listen up!

Paladin Healing Build

If you’ve decided to heal as a Paladin but don’t really know where you’re going to shine or what’s going to be your biggest selling point, I’ve got two words for you: Mana Efficiency. Paladins are really really good at being efficient with their heals. They might not boast as much raw healing as a Priest, but with the help of illumination, you can last a very long time. Illumination is the cornerstone of your healing abilities, and to heal without it is…downright blasphemy.

Other than Illumination, I’m going to run over the core talents of the build. As usual, all builds can be changed, but these talents are the bread and butter and shouldn’t really be trifled with. After all, we’ve got a lot of Paladins out there and if they’re all using these, that should tell you something.

Spiritual Focus, Divine Intellect, Healing Light, Sanctified Light, Beacon of Light.

That’s it guys. It’s a pretty short post but it delivers on the point. Those are the core talents for this cookie cutter raid and pve healing paladin spec in World of Warcraft. GOOD DAY TO YOU SIRS AND MADAMS!

…I SAID GOOD DAY!

Welcome Paladin Tanks. If you’re just gearing up or new to Paladin Tanking, there are few things here that you might benefit from In this installment, we go over how to gear up, what stats you’re going to need the most, what they do for you are more. So sit back, relax, grab a bag of flanin’ hot cheetohs (or Doritos, your call) and read on as we go over the Paladin in World of Warcraft.

Protection Paladin Tanking Stat Guide

First of all, the two most important stats for your tanking paladin are going to be stamina and strength. In any situtation where you have to choose between stats, you’re going to want to get bonuses to either or these two, unless of course you haven’t met your hit, defense, parry or block cap. These are important as well, but given that you’ve hit them, you’re going to want to take Stamina and Strength for paladin tanking.

The most important bonus is Defense. At level 80, in order to hit your cap to tank raid bosses and basically anything in the game, you need to somehow hit a rating of 540 with your talents and gear combined. Remember, just because something says it raises defense, doesn’t mean that it raises your “defense rating” by the same amount. It all depends on your level. One surefire way to make sure you’re looking at defense rating is by checking it in the character screen. Once you get your tanking protection paladin up to 540 defense, raid bosses will no longer be able to land critical hits on you. This is necessary for anybody who wants to raid, since critical hits from bosses and spike your health up and down, making it harder to heal through and a host of different things. 540 Defense Rating.

As far as Stamina goes, this is extremely important because it gives you more life. While it’s true that if you’ve got your defense raiting up to the cap, bosses won’t be able to critically strike you while Paladin tanking…if you don’t have the base life to survive a few damage spikes, you’re not going to survive. All the Parry and Dodge in the world won’t help you if you’ve got a poor base life bonus. Stamina also helps your threat generation IF you’ve got points in Touched by the Light. With that 30% extra spell power, you’ve got some more threat coming with it too. Stamina is extremely important.

Strength might not seem like a likely candidate for an important stat for paladin protection tanking, but it provides two very real bonuses to your surivability and tanking power. First, it helps you generate extra threat while dealing damage, because you’re dealing more. Secondly, if you’re a protection paladin tanking, you’re going to be using a shield. More strength means a better block value, thus more damage mitigation.

Once you’ve got your Defense Capped at 540., Stamina and Strength taken care of, you can also start to look at Agility for the dodge bonus, Hit Rating for more threat, and Block, but the previous stats should not be sacrificed to get these. Cheers!

Your Move Holy Man
Holy Paladins aren’t traditionally played in PvP in World of Warcraft, but who says it can’t be done. With the right build and knowledge of your place and how you’re going to be effective, you shouldn’t have much of a problem surviving the player versus player encounters. Join me as I run through the Holy Paladin PvP spec / build and learn how to swing it!

Tier 1:

Spiritual Focus will greatly increase your healing capabilities in the PvP Battlegrounds. This is very very important because that’s the majority of what you’ll be doing. Yeah, you might be chiming in for damage or tanking a little bit here or there, but you’ll mostly be healing. And trust me, people love to go for the healer, as you probably already know. Well, this talent will give you a lot of resistance to pushback, making your heals nearly uninterruptable during the casting.

Tier 2:

Healing Light makes your Heals more powerful, so you get more bang for your buck! I’d recommend maxing this one out! Diving Intellect increases your Intellect by 15%, and that adds up to be a lot of mana. You’ll need this because people don’t often just have one fight to partake in during PvP, you might get ambushed, then immediately have to jump into the fray somewhere else. Your teammates need to you to have some longevity. Here is your chance to give it to them! Unyielding Faith will protect you from some Fear and Disorient spells. This means Death Coil, Fear, Intimidating Shout, Scatter Shot and more. An un-crowd controllable Paladin is an effective Paladin.

Tier 3:

Illumination is another talent that is going to improve your longevity greatly. When you critically heal somebody, you’re going to get 60% of the mana that spell cost back to refresh you to do it again! This is a crazy good talent and this talent alone is why a lot of Paladin’s choose Holy! It’s also really fun for duels and frustrating for your opponents! Aura Mastery is a sick talent. It improves all of the effects of your Auras by 100%…enough said. Improved Lay on Hands has the ability to make whoever you cast it on an unstoppable crazy dreadnaught for a little while. It boosts their armor up so much that I’d like to see somebody get through them after this thing goes off.

Tier 4:

Improved Blessing of Wisdom gives you again…more longevity. With all of these talents combined, you’re going to be a mana machine. You also wear Plate. People literally will give up trying to kill you because it just takes such a long time, if you don’t kill them first. Tier 4 is where you really start to become an unstoppable healing during World of Warcraft PvP.

Tier 5:

Divine Favor gives you an instant critical heal on your next heal spell. This also stacks with Illumination as well. Since it instantly crits, you’re instantly going to be refunded 60% of that spells mana. Pretty sick huh? Pure of Heart reduces the effects of Diseases, Curses and Poisons. With all the Rogues and Warlocks running around, you’ll be glad to be rid of these nuisances. This means no more crippling poison, no more curse of tongues, etc. Sanctified Light increases your healing and Holy Shock critical strike chance, thus triggering Illumination more often! Gotta love it right?

Tier 6:

Holy Power is simple enough. It increases your Holy spell critical chance by 5%. Again…Illumination for the win. It’s also important to keep in mind that this includes your offensive Holy spells like Judgement, Holy Shock, etc.

Tier 7:

Holy Shock is a must. It can be used as damage or healing. It’s an extremely efficient spell. You’ve already buffed it up with your previous talents, you may as well take it and use it, love it! Blessed Life gives you a 10% chance on each attack that hits you for that attack to cause 50% less damage. As if you even needed this. You already wear Plate and can heal through people beating on you. This just adds insult to injury for your opponent (that’s why it’s fun!)

Tier 8:

Holy Guidance giveas you 15% of your Intellect in Spellpower. This is good to being with, but do you remember getting Diving Intellect? The one that increases your Intellect by 15%? These two stack together, giving you even more mana and spellpower. They work together like a well oiled machine.

Tier 9:

Diving Illumination halves the cost of all of your healing spells for 15 seconds. This is great in a pinch, when you’re affected by Viper Sting, etc. It’s also good to have around just to use so you can be a little bit longer lasting too. I usually use it when it pops up, given that I’m not out of mana any time soon.

Tier 10:

Infusion of Lights makes your Holy Shock spell buff your heals. There’s nothing better than making your offense give you a good defense just by using the spell! Enlightened Judgements increases your Judgement range by a heck of a lot and increases the chance to hit with them by 4%. Very good stuff. How many times have you wasted mana only for your judgment to be resisted? Not anymore!

Tier 11:

Beacon of Light is a buff you put on somebody, and when you heal any other person in your group, that person gets healed too. It’s essentially like having two Paladins healing instead of just one. This is a tremendous spell. Use it and love it!

World of Warcraft Paladins, like Druids and Shaman…are a hybrid class. They can do multiple things depending on the Paladin Build you choose and the gear you’re able to acquire. By making a paladin, you essentially make a little bit of everything in the game. Here are some of the best
perks you can get from the paladin in World of Warcraft.

1. Paladin’s wear plate and heal. They’re the single class in World of Warcraft at this time that can both wear Plate and heal. This means not only are they hard to kill because they have great defense and armor rating, but the damage you DO hit them with…they can just heal up. They’re extemely hard to kill.

2. Paladins Tank better against Multiple mobs than Warriors, and are about even with Druids. This means that by having a Paladin tank, your Tank can heal and take on more mobs efficiently than a Warrior in World of Warcraft. Think about it. Yes, there are some situations where you’re absolutely going to need a Warrior Tank in World of warcraft. That’s true…but most tanking situations are tailor made to be able to be done with whatever class is available. If there are mutliple mobs during some of the pulls…the equally geared paladin is going to come out the better tank in World of Warcraft.

3. Paladins can become invincible. It’s true. Though they might not be at their peak of damage dealing and offensiveness while in this state, they still have the power to become invulnerable for a short period of time. As long as the Paladin has the mana, they can heal up during this time, giving them essentially….two lives.

4. Paladin buffs are among the most requested in the game. Paladins have a buff for everything. Strength, Stamina, Intellect, Attack Power, Damge Sheilds, yada yada yada. They’re great buffers.

5. Paladins can do ANYTHING in a raid. You’ll be able to find groups so fast you’ll get sick of being invited to them. You can DPS, Tank, Heal, Off-Tank, Spot Heal, etc. On top of that, even if you’re DPSing, you can still heal somebody and save them from the virge of death. Rogues, Mages, Warlocks, Death Knights, Hunters and Warriors can’t do that while they’re DPSing! Eveybody needs what you can do….and that my friends, is called having it made in the shade =)

Who says the good guys finish last? They lied!

I was a lonely peasant hoping for a new life to get me away from this damn pitch fork that seems to have formed to my hand. So I went to the local cathedral to pray for some sort of sign as to what I was I supposed to do in life. I prayed and prayed. I even started to lose hope. After hours of staring into the light I began to feel the power of god empower me. I then heard a voice say “My son, I give you my power to clean the void of the world.” The power was overwhelming. With my mace in hand I stood up and said ” I accept your gift and promise to fulfill the quest that has been bestowed upon me. I then snapped to, finding myself standing in my room with broom in hand raised to the sky with my father shouting “Quit day dreaming and clean your void of a room.” I then realized I am still that peasant and the power of god that was given to me was a broom by the one man that has true power over me…my father. Well anyways, here is a build to help you fulfill your dream of making that Retribution Paladin even if its not in this world but in the World of Warcraft. You just may be the greatest.

Retribution Paladin PvE Build

Retribution Paladin PvE Build

Use your Seal of Vengeance with this setup. The reason why is because of Seals of the Pure.
The best DPS move chain I have found is this.

Judge them with Light Or Wisdom (depending on if you have a Paladin tank. Offset him of course.) > Crusader strike > Divine Storm > Consecration > Crusader Strike > Repeat

Retribution Paladin PvP Build

I use this for my Retribution Paladin PvP Build

With this build in PVP switch between your Seal of Command for DPS and your Seal of Wisdom for mana regain.

Keep running into situations where your friends are dropping around you and you’re the butt of the blame game? (like when I group with a heal junkie of a tank…A.K.A Marxis) Well, here’s the answer you have been so longing for – your own personal guide to making a World of Warcraft Holy Paladin.

Holy Paladin PvE Builds

To start things off with, here’s a common WoW PVE Holy spec build. This is my own personal favorite setup for PVE.

Holy PvE Spec

One of the great many flaws of a fresh Holy Pally in World of Warcraft is the fact that everyone wants to wear Plate all the time. YOU ARE A HEALER! YOU DON’T TAKE DAMAGE!!!! Grab that healing mail or even leather if need be. Do what you gotta do to get the heals up there. People will love you for it. Armor points are of the least of concern for PVE.

The Pros of this Spec setup.

The 5 points in benediction allow for a cheaper Holy shock heal for those Holy shit type fights.

The 2 points in to Improved judgment and the 3 points into Heart of the Crusader makes it so that when you judge your enemy with Judgment of Light it not only makes life easier on you to heal but also increases the critical strike chance for everyone to rip that ugly murloc a new ass.

The 5 points in Conviction is also great cause who doesn’t want an easy 5% crit on everything.

The 5 points in Divinity is the shit on helping you get those higher heals with littler spell power.

The Cons of not going full Holy.

You have a harder time with cleansing of poisons and magic. It makes those AN and TOC runs fun when you can’t get the poison off quick enough. (Personally I think this Con is worth the Pros. You can just heal through the shit.)

Now onto the World of Warcraft Holy Paladin Arena/PVP Spec and the reasons why I choose the path of light that I do. (this also works well in PVE aka 5 mans and 10 man raids from what I have tested)

Holy Paladin PvP Build

Arena/PVP Holy Spec Build

The Pros…

You got the extra points into Toughness increasing your armor points.

You got Divine Sacrifice and the upgrade for it. (Also known as the God Send for healers when shit hits the fan.) Just simply bubble then pop that Divine Sacrifice and transfer all the damage to others straight into that Bubble. Next thing you know, life is great! (Also a good time to pop your Divine Plea to get mana back for little healing is needed while that damage is being redirected into your Bubble.)

And last but not least the nice increase in chance to dodge, reduced stun, and reduced silence.

Greatly increased survivability!!

The Cons…

You basically lose the Pros from the PVE Holy spec Listed above.

You still don’t have the bonus to your cleanses.

Just a few other useful info for a World of Warcraft Holy Paladin – The biggest things to work on stat wise for a Holy Paladin. You want about 400 to 500 Haste rating roughly. This will greatly increase the cast time of your Flash of Light, especially with other Retribution Paladins or Enhancement Shaman in the party. (They help the Haste Rating.) You definitely want a nice mana pool. Mine averages around 20k+ non Kinged. Not to mention that the high INT also helps increase your spell power. This also helps regeneration in the form of your Divine Plea. Which then leads into my next thing. MP5….. the more the merrier.

I hope this helps all you new WOW Holy Paladins out there. Please feel free to give Noobstation.com your feed back and thought. Now, may the light be with you and go heal your life away.
